Sashemani Elliott is the principal of Amber Charter School which serves 485 children in the East Harlem community. Amber is one of the oldest charter schools in New York State celebrating its 15th year. She received her B.A. in childhood education from Concordia College-Bronxville, NY and her M.A. in educational leadership and technology from Adelphi University- Garden City, NY. She serves as Vice-chair on the Center for Urban Education Ministries board which connects and equips Lutheran and other parochial leaders to develop innovative and effective Christian educational ministries in urban areas across the United States. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her niece and nephew, Kayleigh and Aiden.
