Deborah Stanczuk
Workshop 2N: Enacting Common Core in the Preschool Classroom
Deborah holds a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Hofstra Univeristy and is NY State certified for both early childhood and elementary education. She started her career as a 1st grade teacher at Grace Lutheran in Queens Village where she taught for 6 years before joining the NYC Dept. of Ed. Deborah taught general education classes for grades 1 and 3 as well as co-taught inclusion classes on both levels. During her 11 year tenure, Deborah's school was chosen as a pilot for common core. As lead teacher on grade 3, she aligned the 3rd curriculum to the common core standards and began implementing the new standards into all lessons and assessments. She has returned to her LSA roots having just joined the staff of St. John's in Merrick as a 4 year old Pre-k teacher in 2014.
